Cutting edge digital innovations: strengthening global capacity, preparedness and response to public health emergencies

Recent health emergencies have unnecessarily taken thousands lives and cost the global economy billions. The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø RDR Centre for dPHE leads on interdisciplinary research, training and policy to break down the limits of current health systems’ capacity and communities’ resilience to improve health and wellbeing; and respond to emergencies at local, national and Ìýinternational levels.

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø RDR Centre for Digital Public Health in Emergencies seeks to:

  • STRENGTHEN response to global public health challenges and emergencies
  • LEAD cutting edge research into mobile technologies, data science and Policy
  • HARNESS expertise across sectors to strengthen national and International collaboration
  • CULTIVATE the next generation of experts through evidence-based teaching

The Centre provides a connection space for academics, researchers, innovators, decision-makers, NGOs and policymakers working in fields related to digital public health wishing to work collaboratively to tackle difficult questions. We hold a number of events and activities throughout the year including:

  • International Digital Public Health Conference Series – our flagship annual event bringing together Digital Health, Public Health and Computer Science since 2009
  • Postgraduate Taught Programmes - interdisciplinary courses and modules
  • Frontiers Digital Health Journal – interdisciplinary open-access publication
  • Summer School on Digital Public Health in Emergencies
  • Masterclasses on Public Health and Big Data for Disaster Risk Reduction
  • Sponsored Lecture Series featuring top international speakers
  • Internship Opportunities to highlight potential career paths and employability across sectors
