PhD AIM:

The aim of my PhD is to investigate the effect of the polymerogenic mutations of 1-antitrypsin at the cellular and molecular level. I am using various approaches from cellular and molecular biology to understand the pathogenic consequence of the polymerization occurring in cells.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

I am very interested in applying integrative structural biology to understand protein function at the molecular level and therefore I use a combination of techniques to answer my key research questions. The primary technique I use is electron microscopy, supported by protein crystallography, NMR and various biochemical assays.

Additionally, I am interested in developing computer programming skills and their implementation in my research, e.g. for data processing purposes.
