Each project begins with a consultation stage, during which we will discuss which library preparation and platform would be best for your project.

We use an AgilentÌýFemtoÌýPulse SystemÌýin order toÌýaccurately size and judge the quality of our DNA and RNA samples. This system is particularly good for long-read samples due to its ability to separate high molecular weight DNA. For more information onÌýFemtoÌýPulse, please follow the following link to the Agilent website:ÌýÌý
Some long-read projects benefit from a slight initial DNA fragmentation, and it is extremely important that any shearing is reproducible. We use a state-of-the-artÌýMegaruptorÌý3 fromÌýDiagenode, to precisely and reproducibly fragment our samplesÌýin order toÌýoptimise downstream library sequencing. For more information on theÌýMegaruptorÌý3, pleaseÌýtake a lookÌýat theÌýdiagenodeÌýwebpage:ÌýÌý
Blue Pippin
In order toÌýoptimise some libraries, we useÌýLabgeneÌýScientific's Blue PippinÌýto perform size selection. This can be used for a variety ofÌýprojects, andÌýforÌýboth DNAÌýandÌýalsoÌýcDNA forÌýRNA-based projects. For more information on Blue Pippin, please see theÌýlabgeneÌýwebsite:Ìý
