What we do

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø BERN aims to be a thought leader on the building envelope field

In January 2022ÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø BERNÌýhostedÌýtwo high-level stakeholder engagement workshopsÌýdesigned to furtherÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø BERN’s external engagement ambitionÌý-Ìýto coordinate Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's extensive technical knowledge of the building envelopeÌýinto a coherent and comprehensive research programme, in collaboration with building envelope externalÌýstakeholders fromÌýindustry, Government and academia.

Prof. Jose Torero Cullen, Professor, Civil Engineering and Head of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø BERN Steering Group Member was the leading workshop host, supported by five Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø BERN co-hosts. Twenty-one high-level external stakeholders from the building envelope communities also participated.

•ÌýIdentify activities that Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø BERN should prioritise,Ìýutilising Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s expertise to address technical and social challenges and generate positive impact.

•ÌýExplore ways to categorise and map knowledge of the building envelope and identify current research gaps.
