New funding schemes for early career researchers are available for each of the TINs, to support the generation of pilot data for translational research projects.
The TINs Pilot Data Scheme is highlighted by the TRO in the below video, and also features previous awardees from previous calls听who describe how听the scheme enabled them to learn crucial skills, generate data & lead to follow-on funding.

For all opportunities, shortlisted applicants will be听required to听deliver a 2-minute听pitch听of听their proposal听followed by 10mins Q&A听to a panel听of academic and industrial members at a听Dragon鈥檚 Den style event.

The TINs committees are听now inviting applications听for projects with an aim to accelerate the transition from discovery science to the early stages of therapeutic development by providing responsive and flexible funding to support preliminary translational work.听
What we are looking for:听
- Cell and Gene Therapy TIN: Translational projects involving viral and non-viral gene delivery, direct and ex-vivo gene therapy, gene supplementation, gene editing, TCR and CAR-T cells.听
- Regenerative Medicine TIN: Translational projects involving cells, engineered tissues and biomaterials for therapeutic applications.听
- Small Molecules TIN: Translational drug discovery projects involving the development, optimisation or testing of new small molecules.听
- Devices, Diagnostics and Digital TIN: Translational projects involving the development of therapeutic devices, diagnostic devices, screening tests, prognostic biomarkers.
- Biologics TIN: Translational projects involving the development of monoclonal antibodies, peptides, vaccines, exosomes and oligonucleotides therapies.
- Medicines Repurposing TIN: Translational projects involving the use of marketed drugs for novel medical indications. Screening projects aiming at the identification of new potential molecules without a clear and focused repurposing activity are excluded from this call.
