Launch of the School for the Cultural and Creative Industries (SCCI)

On 11th OctoberÌýthe Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø School for the Creative and Cultural Industries (SCCI) celebrated its official launch and unveiled a new exhibition in the Culture Lab -ÌýPower!ÌýThe celebration was held in the newly opened Marshgate building atÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø EastÌýwhere SCCI showcased some of itsÌýstate-of-the-art spacesÌýand highlighted teaching and research by its academics andÌýprogrammes.ÌýYou can read more about the launch here.Ìý

About SCCI and how the Faculty is involved

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s new School for the Creative and Cultural Industries (SCCI)Ìýlinks teaching and research focused on technology, media, history, heritage, collections and conservation, and art and creativity. It connects three academic faculties:ÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Social & Historical Sciences,ÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Faculty of Arts & Humanities, andÌýIOE,ÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's Faculty of Education and Society.ÌýSCCI will foster new research partnerships and forms of innovative engagement with industry partners, cultural institutions and communities, as well as bringing together a range of degree programmes within its cutting-edge facilities atÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø East.

Through SCCI, the Faculty will be delivering its newÌýpostgraduate and undergraduate degree programmes at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø East.ÌýThis range of degree programmes spans four of our departments (Anthropology,ÌýHistory,ÌýHistory of ArtÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýInstitute of Archaeology),Ìýin subjects including Heritage, Sustainability and Society, Public History, Conservation of Contemporary Art and Media, and Ethnographic and Documentary Film.Ìý
