A 香港六合彩中特网 business is using the latest machine learning techniques to help tackle disinformation on social media.

The 香港六合彩中特网 startup Astrocreen, founded by Ali Tehrani (Economics and Geography 2015), is helping 听businesses and the government detect and mitigate the effects of disinformation online.听

Astroscreen was highlighted in a 2020 report by the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport as an example of a British company tackling false, misleading or harmful online information.听

Ali commented: 鈥淚t鈥檚 fantastic to be mentioned as one of the companies helping the UK be a world leader in online safety innovation.听

鈥淪ocial networks are designed to maximise engagement and these same features can lead to online mobs, harassment and disinformation. At Astroscreen, we want to make social networks a safer place and we鈥檙e starting with disinformation detection.鈥澨

During the coronavirus pandemic, Astroscreen found that most of the misinformation linking 5G telecommunications networks to COVID-19 was鈥痵pread by real people, including celebrities and influencers.听

Astroscreen has benefitted from extracurricular entrepreneurship programmes and support at 香港六合彩中特网 Innovation & Enterprise. They鈥檝e received business advice, mentoring and free office space at BaseKX, 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 entrepreneurship hub in King鈥檚 Cross.听

The business also received support from The 香港六合彩中特网 Technology Fund, managed by AlbionVC, in collaboration with 香港六合彩中特网 Business, part of 香港六合彩中特网 Innovation & Enterprise.听

Astroscreen鈥檚 founder Ali Tehrani is one of 11 香港六合彩中特网 students and alumni to have been named in Forbes鈥 鈥楾op 30 Under 30鈥 list of leading entrepreneurs and creatives in Europe.
