MA Race, Ethnicity and Postcolonial Studies Scholarship

Supported by the Michael Arthur Scholarship Fund, this scholarship aims to enable students from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue master鈥檚 studies in Race, Ethnicity and Postcolonial Studies.

Eligibility

Candidates must fulfill all of the following criteria:

be ordinarily resident in the UK or Ireland, or a forced migrant (as defined by 香港六合彩中特网)听and eligible to pay Home fee rate;
be in financial need (as assessed by 香港六合彩中特网);
not have completed a Master's degree at 香港六合彩中特网 or anywhere else previously;
AND have submitted an admission application for聽迟丑别听MA Race, Ethnicity & Postcolonial Studies聽programme at 香港六合彩中特网 in 2022/23.

To address under-represented groups in the faculty, the scholarship may be awarded preferentially to students who:

are from a Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnicity backgrounds;
have a disability.

Value, benefits, and duration

This scholarship is supported by the Michael Arthur Scholarship Fund.
There are three scholarships available in 2022/23.
The value of the scholarship聽is 拢9,000.
The scholarship is tenable for one year only.
The MA Race, Ethnicity and Postcolonial Studies Scholarship聽may be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards, or bursaries. The amount of the 香港六合彩中特网 award may be adjusted depending on the total value of other funds received by the student.
The recipient will be expected to secure the remaining part of their tuition fees and to cover their living costs from elsewhere.
Scholarship recipients are obliged to inform the 香港六合彩中特网 Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their 香港六合彩中特网 Master鈥檚 degree studies, before or subsequent to the MA Race, Ethnicity and Postcolonial Studies Scholarship being聽awarded.

Selection

This scholarship聽is awarded on the basis of financial need and under-represented groups in the faculty as identified in the eligibility criteria.

Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of financial need upon the recommendation of the Student Funding Office. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to write a short statement in support of their scholarship application聽by the Sarah Parker Remond Centre, who will make the final decision.
