Early Career Researchers (including doctoral students) often struggle in designing compelling posters or communicating their research findings via social media platforms. 香港六合彩中特网 Collaborative Social Science Domain鈥檚 PhD Network brings to you a specialist workshop in which a number of experts from across 香港六合彩中特网 will guide you in how to make effective posters and how to communicate your research findings effectively. 听

Workshop Activities

  • Associate Professor听at Slade School of Fine Arts, will talk about how to make visually appealing and compelling posters and share examples of posters!听
  • ,听Digital Content Strategist, IOE Marketing & Communications, will talk about identifying key messages and share examples of content for social media!听
  • , Lecturer in Psychology at the IOE, will talk about using social media platforms to communicate research findings through social media and share relevant examples of using social media to network too!听
  • , Administrations and Communications Officer, ASPIRES 3 Project IOE, will talk about creating a policy report and using social media and blogs to disseminate the report!听

About our contributors

1.听JO VOLLEY听
Jo Volley is an artist and who lives and works in London. Her work is concerned with measurement, light, space and colour as light, and employs a wide range of material and medium. It draws attention to the nature of archiving, historic materials, ideas of craftsmanship, incorporating traditional and contemporary techniques. It explores the relationship between the object and the subject of painting. The intervening space between the idea and the touch; the emotional separateness of making and the expanse of time between these events. She is Slade Deputy Director (Projects) and Coordinator of the Material Research Project & Network and the Material Museum at the Slade School of Fine Art, 香港六合彩中特网 where she studied from 1972-77 and has taught since 1986. Her four most recent funded research projects include: The Pigment Timeline Project, From Pigments to Solar Power, Colour & Emotion Toolkit,听 The Pigment Farm and听 she 听is currently co-writing an Art School Guide to Material Practice Vol. I: Supports, Surfaces and听 Grounds. 听In 2019 she established and directed Colour & Poetry: A Symposium to celebrate both International Colour Day and World Poetry Day and edits its annual publication Colour & Poetry. Recent exhibitions include Apertures, Fondamenta Gallery, Rome, the result of a residency at 听MACRO Asilo (Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome) and The Adjacent Possible, Muscarelle Museum of Art, Williamsburg. Her most recent project A Colour A Day can be followed . In 2020 along with Dr Ruth Siddall she established , 22nd March

2. JASON听 ILAGAN听
Jason is Digital Content Strategist in the IOE Marketing and Communications team, leading faculty social media strategy and content creation for research communications, enterprise and student recruitment activity. Jason has previously worked in digital marketing at London Business School, and in broadcast, entertainment and journalism roles at Southern Cross Austereo in Australia.听

3. KERI WONG听
Keri is an Assistant Professor at the University College London, Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol), Associate Fellow (AFBPsS) of the British Psychological Society, and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Prior to 香港六合彩中特网, she was the former Betty Behrens Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge (Clare Hall) and received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Cambridge, and both her BA (Hons.) in Psychology and MA in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania. She is passionate about understanding how children develop trust in others and how this relates to mental health.听

Keri is also the co-Director of the Centre for Education in Criminal Justice System (ECJ) and is the PI of the 香港六合彩中特网-Penn Global COVID Study (GlobalCovidStudy.com) (an online survey on the impacts of COVID-19 on mental health and social trust, which has informed UK policy discussions.) 听Moreover, Keri has co-chaired the IOE Early Career Network (@IOE_EarlyCareer; 2019-21), hosted the official IOE podcast Research for the Real World, sat on the Athena Swan Silver Award Self-Assessment Team, and is currently the founder and host of the official IOE podcast for early career academics, Academia et al. (2021).听

4. EMMA WATSON听
Emma Watson is a member of the ASPIRES research team, looking into what shapes and influences young peoples Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) trajectories and aspirations. Emma manages the public and policy communications for the team including their social media channels (@ASPIRESscience). Before joining ASPIRES, Emma has worked in public engagement and widening participation with STEM, taking a special interest in working with minoritized communities in STEM. She is passionate about sharing research findings with the public and making research outputs accessible for all.听
