TITLE: Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøQ Quantum Energy Hackathon

ABSTRACT:Ìý

JWith Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøQ's Quantum Energy Hackathon we want to explore how quantum computing can help with the climate crisis. We aim to bring together people from a diverse set of backgrounds, including quantum physicists and engineers, computer scientists, energy and climate experts, and coders to explore the applications of quantum computing.

Working with the Qiskit team from IBM Quantum, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøQ have organised a two-day online hackathon to explore how quantum computation can help optimise our energy infrastructure for a cleaner greener future.

Our Qiskit hackathon is open to everyone and free to join! We are looking for students and professionals from all fields to attend. However, some prior knowledge in programming with Python is expected.

Over the course of two days students and professionals from all fields will work with quantum computers from IBM on a task devised by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøQ. Teams of five will form a multidisciplinary team to hack, innovate and explore the problem for 24-hours, before presenting their results.

During the hackathon:

  • Expert coaches from IBM, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøQ and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources will be available to help you and give you tips
  • You will have access to quantum machines from IBM
  • You will join other young scientists from around the world to attend talks that help you understand and form solutions to the problem
