Many people have reported striking, disturbing, or unusually vivid dreams during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the Spring when the first lockdowns were imposed.ÌýThis ‘dream surge’ has provoked renewed curiosity about the meaning of dreams.ÌýWhile Freud insisted that dreams were meaningful, he focused on what they revealedÌýabout the dreamer’s private life.Ìý

The dreams reported during this extraordinary time highlight the impact of the broader socio-political context on our inner worlds.ÌýIn this webinar, as we enter a second lockdown, the MSc students behind ‘Lockdown Dreams’ (a research project on dreams produced during the pandemic) present and discuss their work with psychoanalysts Daniel Pick and Liz Allison.
