Pioneers in higher education

In 1826, a university education was limited to the very few. You had to be male, a member of the established church, and independently wealthy. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s founders wanted to do things differently. Inspired by the ideas of philosopher Jeremy Bentham, they decided that education should be available to all who could benefit from it – and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø was created.
