Brian Klaas is a political scientist at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø and a weekly columnist for the Washington Post. He has written three books:ÌýThe Despot's AccompliceÌý(Oxford University Press),ÌýThe Despot's ApprenticeÌý(Hurst & Co), andÌýHow to Rig an ElectionÌý(Yale University Press). His research focuses on democracy, authoritarianism, Trumpism, the nature of power,ÌýpoliticalÌýviolence, and US foreign policy. Before becoming an academic, he co-managed a winning campaign for Governor in his home state of Minnesota.
