Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Interfaith event hosted by EDI teams from across Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø

19 December 2022

An event to re-launch interfaith activity at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø was organised by Sudaxshina Murdan, Anouchka Sterling and Reverend Reid Humble on the 16th November 2022, during the National Interfaith Week.

The aim was to create an opportunity for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Staff and Students to get together, be curious, learn about some of the faiths represented at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, engage in dialogue, and share our experiences. Ìý

A number of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Student Societies including the Buddhist Society, the Sikh Society, the Catholic Society, the Krishna Consciousness Society, VOCE Gospel Society, Christian Union and members of staff showcased their faiths including Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Ananda Marga.

There was singing, music, the Spoken Word, chanting, reading from scripture, prayer, guided meditations, presentations about lived experiences and a brief panel discussion about dietary requirements and light refreshments.Ìý

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants (around 70) highlighting the need for such events to create spaces for being together in the same room, learning about different faiths (including the similarities and differences), dialogue and relationship building.Ìý
