Could you be a Student Residence Adviser?

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Student Support and Wellbeing is recruiting for full-time Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø postgraduate students to work as Student Residence Advisers (SRAs) in halls of residence from 1 September 2023 to 30 June 2024. Find out more about applying here!

Student Residence Advisers are responsible for helping students settle into life at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø and proactively building the hall community by running events and activities.

They offer peer-to-peer pastoral support, signpost residents to wider Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø services, andÌýwork on a rota basis during weekday evenings and throughout weekends, bank holidays and periods of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø closure, when site offices are closed.

As an SRA, you would be performing community-building activities and providing proactive wellbeing support. SRAs are allocated to, and are expected to reside within, one of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's halls of residence; they'reÌýoffered single rooms free of charge for this purpose.

Successful candidates will:Ìý

  • be postgraduate students registered full-time at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, with at least one year of studies remaining;
  • have experience of working as part of a team, showing ability to seek advice from others when needed; and
  • have previous experience of working in a role involving pastoral care, or an advisory or supportive role.
