Zak Dada

What are you studying, why are you interested in this subject and what do you plan to do in the future?

I am studying Laws at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, I was interested this subject because i’ve always liked the depiction of Law in media and found it riveting as such. I communicate with lawyers in my job in property management and Property Law is something I would like to go into.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve done, seen or got involved with while at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø?

A great introduction to some of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws students in Regent’s Park at the start of first yearÌý– met some great people!

Have you discovered any hidden gems during your time at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø?

Crazy Salad on Woburn Place (next to Russell Square) is a very nice, student friendly, and well-priced place to study or just chill with great food. I definitely advise paying a visit.

Give us your top three things to do/see/go to in London:

I’m a big foodie so I’d probably say Woody Grill in Camden next to Mornington Crescent StationÌý– it has food for all dietary requirements. Sunrise in Primrose Hill is the classic stereotype for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø students but it’s popular for a reasonÌý– definitely wake up early and go see it. Lastly, I’d say cycling from Warren Street past Parliament to the London Eye is very pretty, go and explore!

What’s one thing you’d like to see in a post-Covid world?

Through my experience with Merton Mutual Aid, I’ve seen that a lot of families lack access to necessities such as laptops and tablets for online learning. I’d like to see more of a focus on this by the government and general awareness of this element of digital poverty.

Who inspires you and why?

I would say my grandfather. He came to this country with very little and has managed to secure an amazing future for his familyÌýand I intend to in his spirit.

What would it surprise people to know about you?

I worked full time during law first year and I have a cat in my uni flat, Muffin.
