The list aims to spotlight and celebrate the capital鈥檚 most influential people. Being from, or living in, London is not necessary to be considered for inclusion, with judging instead taking place based on each individual鈥檚 influence on London in their particular sphere.

The 香港六合彩中特网 academics included in the list are all leaders in their area who conduct ground-breaking work across a variety of fields.

Amongst those profiled is Professor Tariq Enver (香港六合彩中特网 Cancer Institute). Professor Enver鈥檚 work as director of the 香港六合彩中特网 Cancer Institute includes leading a 鈥済rand coalition鈥 in the war on cancer and encouraging closer working relations between 香港六合彩中特网, King鈥檚 College London, Queen Mary University of London and the Francis Crick Institute.

Also chosen is Dr Leonie Tanczer (香港六合彩中特网 STEaPP). Dr Tanczer鈥檚 research includes a study on how smart home assistants have been used in domestic abuse cases to record victims, deploy spyware and alter temperature or humidity levels. This has led to a cybersecurity resource guide to help abuse survivors fight back against targeting through smart gadgets.

Professor Alan Thompson, Dean of the Faculty of Brain Sciences and 香港六合彩中特网 Pro-Vice-Provost (London), said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 terrific to see 香港六合彩中特网 recognised so prominently in this list celebrating the great achievers and influencers who are shaping London and the lives of the people who live here. 香港六合彩中特网 is fundamentally of London and profoundly beneficial to it, and this list illustrates just how varied our contribution is and how collaboratively we work to drive real change.鈥

The progress 1000 is an annual list curated by the Evening Standard. The theme for this year鈥檚 list was 鈥淭he Future and Technology鈥.
