Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Occupational Health Service receives SEQOHS accreditation

28 November 2013

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø OHS with their SEQOHS certificate ucl.ac.uk/hr/occ_health/" target="_blank">Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Occupational Health Service (OHS) has recently achieved accreditation as a Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS). In doing so, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø OHS is the first Russell Group university OHS in England to achieve accreditation and the fourth university in the UK.

The Ìýhas become a nationally recognised standard for occupational health practice in both the private and public sector, just as ISO 9000 is a recognised standard in business. It is run by the Royal College of Physicians on behalf of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.

In addition to improving standards, the scheme aims to 'credit good work being done by high-quality Occupational Health services, providing independent validation that they satisfy standards of quality'.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø OHS undertook a rigorous independent assessment and quality assurance process and the team are proud to have demonstrated that Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø OHS met the required standards. Both independent assessors commented that although they had carried out a number of inspections throughout the country, they had not previously been in a position to confirm their recommendation for accreditation on the day of inspection.Ìý

By taking part in this scheme the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø OHS team have not only demonstrated that they meet the required quality standards, but that they are committed to continuous improvement through annual accreditation.
