The centre, originally opened in 1996, provides further opportunities for a range of sports at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø. The facilities are directly equipped for badminton, basketball, football, netball, volleyball, indoor bowls, cricket, table tennis, martial arts, fitness and aerobics classes.

The refurbishment has also extended the space to include an Activities Studio with a sprung floor that can be used for dance and gymnastics.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø students can use the centre at an affordable price through a partnership that includes Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøU, Camden Council and Regent High School. The refurbishment also benefits the Somers Town community, students of Regent High School and other local schools.

Zayyan Butt, Ethics, Environment & Operations Officer for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøU said: "Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøU celebrates the special connection that students at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø have with Somers Town Community Sports Centre in its constant demand for various student activities.

"I firmly believe that these extended and newly refurbished facilities will serve the needs of the students and the larger community for many years to come."

Alan Chesters, Chair of the Somers Town Community Sports Centre Trustees, said: "The Centre has always been a wonderful facility for schools, students and the community alike. It is now splendidly refurbished and extended to provide even more benefits over at least the next 15 years."
