Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø receives £174m HEFCE Grant for 2012-13

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's HEFCE grant for the financial year 2012-13 has been announced today as £174.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Portico and Quad 3m, representing a reduction of £7.5m (4.1%) on funding for 2011-12.

This compares with an overall sector reduction of 18.8%, which reflects the phasing out of the teaching grant and the move to tuition fees of up to £9,000 for new UK/EU undergraduates from 2012-13.

Although Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's teaching grant has been reduced by 14.7% compared with 2011-12, it has benefited from changes to the allocation of HEFCE research fund funding which produces an increase of 2.1% for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, compared with a cash standstill onÌýresearch funding for the sector as a whole.

Overall,ÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø has moved to second position in total HEFCE allocation, overtaking the Open University, Manchester and Cambridge and behind Oxford.
