The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Public Engagement Unit has new funding available for inventive projects that bring the public and the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø community together.

Individual projects can receive up to £20,000.

Dr Hilary Jackson from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Public Engagement Unit explained: "This funding is a great way to connect people outside Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø with our research or teaching. It's designed to give Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø staff and research students an opportunity to test out a new idea, with support and advice from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Public Engagement and to help extend their networks within and beyond Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø. We hope staff and research students will contact us with ideas and we're happy to help shape applications in the run-up to the deadline."

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø context

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Public Engagement Unit works to support activities which encourage a culture of two-way conversations between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø staff and groups outside the University. The unit is one of six in the UK to be funded by the Beacons for Public Engagement programme, which was set up by Higher Education Funding Council for England, Research Councils UK and the Wellcome Trust.
