8 December 2020

icom2020

The International (ICOM 2020) takes place this week as a 5-day online event. The programme is filled with presentations from expert invited speakers together with contributed talks and ePosters – all available on-demand for one month after the event.

The CNIE is represented by Dr Yanan Liu and Halan Mohamed. Yanan will talk about her work on nature-inspired graphene oxide membranes with vertical pores for fast water treatment on Thursday at the Biomimetic and Bioinspired Membrane session. During the Wednesday morning poster session Halan will display her work on kidney-inspired polymer brush modified membranes which have enhanced anti-fouling properties. Halan’s work was recently in the Royal Society of Chemistry's (MSDE) journal. The work was performed together with former CNIE postdoctoral researcher, Zheyi (Jerome) Meng (now an Associate Professor at Donghua University in Shanghai). The paper also had contributions from former MSc Vishanigaa Arumuganathan, Steve Hudziak from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø's Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and Professor Coppens.
