Description
This module is focused on using journal articles and research papers as a key tool for discourse and examination to teach you about the field and the approaches to analysis and research within business and social research for healthcare management.ÌýÌý There will be discussion questions through Moodle as well as exercises to provide you with an opportunity to discuss in detail some of the main research concepts and methodological issues that are covered.
The approach to teaching is based on facilitating the application of concepts, research methods and principles to practice-related contexts and examples of research projects in the healthcare management area.Ìý This approach will be used to develop your ability to think critically about data and evidence and how to draw appropriate inferences and critique the research literature.
You will also be expected to work independently through readings, discussion forums to ensure appropriate grasp of the readings.

- Demonstrate a crucial understanding and evaluation of study designs and methods of evaluation for healthcare management research
Intellectual, Academic and Research Skills:
- Critically appraise published research studies based on a range of research methodologies and frameworks
- Complete a thorough literature search leading to a review of the literature relevant to healthcare management
- Demonstrate awareness and application of ethical issues in healthcare research
Practical and Transferable Skills:
Write a review of a piece of research
