Description
Aims: To provide students with a thorough and up-to-date understanding of research in selected topics in public microeconomics.
Module Outline: Household welfare measurement: costs of children, within household decision making. Social welfare measurement: inequality and poverty. Issues in optimum tax design. Commodity taxation and consumer demand. Income taxation and labour supply. Public economics grounds for intervention: public goods and other market failures.
