Description

This is a compulsory module for students taking the iBSc in Surgical Sciences. Molecular biology techniques are fundamental in biological research. This course offers a mixture of lectures and extensive practical sessions/workshops which introduce a number of molecular biology techniques and provide students with the opportunity to apply them in a laboratory setting. Covering: Mammalian cell culture, RNA extraction, qPCR and histology/immunohistochemistry (mixture of theory and practice). The teaching takes place in the scientific laboratories, Department of Surgery and Interventional Science, at the Bloomsbury campus.
