Description
Content: Students will be introduced to a range of themes in international models of learning and associated pedagogies order to extend knowledge of and opportunities for reform in contemporary policy and practice. By the end of the module students will have had opportunities to critically engage with socio-cultural and political influences on a range of issues, and applied this understanding to an analysis of contemporary curriculum/assessment.ÌýÌý
Teaching delivery: The module is conducted in ten weekly lectures in which there is time for discussion and application. This wouldÌý include, for example,Ìý sharing experience from students own contexts, disciplines, and expertise.Ìý
Indicative topics: The contentÌý has included a number of reforms in previous years such as assessment-led curricula, marketization, performativity, and high stakes testing, but may vary according to the nature of issues currently seen as important in relation to education .Ìý
Module Aims and / or Objectives: This course endeavours to facilitate academic debate about the aims of education, and encourage a questioning and critical stance on curriculum and assessment across international contexts.ÌýÌý
