Description
The module is suitable for surgeons (non-surgeons would require special permission from the module and programme lead to access this module). It will cover skills required for students (surgeons) to understand and apply facial aesthetic surgery techniques including their limitations, complications, and assessment. Students will learn how to clinically assess and analyse nasal defects, ear deformities and features of physiological aging of the face, brow, neck, and peri-orbital region. In addition, students will be able to make a surgical plan, counsel and consent patients for facial surgical procedures and recognise and counsel unrealistic patients.ÌýÌýÌý
Principles of surgical follow-up, measuring outcome in aesthetic surgery, the management of surgical complications and dissatisfied patients and an overview of record making (including photographs) will also be covered in this module. In addition, students will acquire the skills to manage appearance, function, and emotion within a facial aesthetic wholistic programme. There will also be an opportunity for students to perform surgical aesthetic procedures in a simulated environment.Ìý
