There are no alternative credit options available for this module.
The module will introduce the students to the concepts of normal growth and development throughout the life-cycle and the impact of deficiencies at critical stages. The effect of epigenetic changes on growth and development will be examined. Some of the areas covered include: energy balance and body weight regulation, nutrition in pregnancy, nutrition and the skeleton, women health, effects of dietary deficiencies on growth and development and role of nutrition in the prevention of age-associated diseases.
