Description

Through interactive on-line resources, seminars with experts in the field and clinical sessions in the hospital, our award-winning teaching team are available to guide your learning on the impact of surgery and anaesthesia on the patient.

By building on your pre-clinical learning, you will gain a detailed understanding of applied physiology, pharmacology and anatomy, relevant for the safe management of patients undergoing anaesthesia and surgery.

We will introduce the concept of risk, why it matters and what we can do about it in the perioperative period. The module has a strong clinical focus and you will develop a framework in some of the fundamental concepts and clinical skills required as a junior doctor, including interpretation of investigation, fluids, pain management, and prescribing.
