Description
The research project is an integral part of the EngD programme and serves to assess the students’ capacity to perform research. The research project will be closely related to the cutting edge research being carried out in the Advanced Centre for Biochemical Engineering. The course provides the underlying training in conducting literature search, experimental design, laboratory work, and collection of data and their analysis including conclusions and recommendations. Upon completion of the course, a student should be able to:
- Demonstrate a practical aptitude for laboratory research
- Gain basic research skills, become confident users of relevant equipment and learn experimental techniques
- Design their experimental plan and exercise creativity
- Organize, analyse and present data with statistical analysis
- Draw accurate conclusions from the data obtained and compare with the published literature
- Prepare a scientific poster and discuss the results obtained with an expert audience
