Description

The module will allow students to acquire the theoreticalÌýand practical principles of routine obstetric ultrasound in lowÌýrisk pregnant women. The student will learn the basicÌýprinciples of the ultrasound physics, ultrasound machineÌýframework functionality and safety, principles of screeningÌýin obstetrics according with national and internationalÌýguidelines. The student will spend time in the UltrasoundÌýScreening Unit at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøH scanning low risk pregnant womenÌýto learn how to perform a screening scan in pregnancy. TheÌýstudent will acquire competencies in first trimester nuchalÌýscreening, anomaly screening, growth assessment,Ìýmaternal and fetal Doppler, cervical length assessmentÌýaccording with national (FASP) ad international guidelinesÌý(ISUOG).

Independent work will consist of background reading and case presentation of specific fetal anomalies that were observed during the clinical component.

E-learning will consist of directed learning via web-based lectures in the field of fetal medicine.
