Description

This module investigates built works of architecture in early-modern and modern Britain, and is organised around fieldwork visits to a limited selection of buildings/landscapes in London and Oxford, each of which will be examined in some depth. From the selected buildings/landscapes being visited, students can expect to gain a general knowledge of British architecture during the period – such as in the use and meaning of materials, or the ways in which architects have designed the spaces inside and outside of buildings.
