The IoMH’s mission is to unite researchers, from a range of relevant disciplines, behind the goal of improving the understanding of mental health and its disorders.

As part of itsÌýcommitment to support mental health research, the IoMH has established a small grantÌýscheme to encourage collaborative and interdisciplinary work in mental health research. This is the fifth year that the scheme has run.

The IoMH has also established public engagement grants scheme and for the second year weÌýwill be making awardsÌýto encourage better engagement of the public with mental health research.

Small Grant Funding

We will be awarding up to £10,000 to encourage collaborative and interdisciplinary work in mental health research. Researchers are welcome to bid up to £10,000 to fund a project that will last up to 12 months.

We anticipate making one award only, and this is likely to be the only round this year.Ìý

Public Engagement Grants

We will also be making individual awards of up to £2,000 to encourage better engagement of the public with mental health research. Work funded under this scheme may include workshops, focus groups, art exhibitions or other public-facing activities. ÌýTarget audiences must include researchers and members of the public.

Both awards are open toÌýindividuals or teams includingÌýInstitute of Mental HealthÌýaffiliated researchers, but applications must alsoÌýinclude aÌýsubstantive memberÌýof staff at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø. You can find out more about how to become an affiliated researcherÌýon our website.
