Course Entry Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • You have achieved (or are predicted) a first class or upper second class honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent international qualifications or experience). An MSc is also preferred, though not essential.Ìý

  • An academic background relevant to your intended field of study within the Department. For some students, this background is centred within the Physical Sciences (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics); for others, it includes medicine and biology.ÌýWe would be happy to discuss this requirement with you.Ìý

  • Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø. Further details can be found on the following

We accept students who wish to self-fund or have secured their own sponsorship. We advise that all applicants approach an academic member of staff directly who conduct research in their field of interestÌýwith a research proposal and getting their support before making an application.Ìý

The department offer an array of funded opportunities throughout the academic year for PhD positions.ÌýÌý

Please ensure you have identified a supervisor to support your application and proposed project (students must only apply for one project, not multiple). Confirmation of your supporting supervisor and intent to apply for one of the scholarships above must be stated in your application. The additional supporting documents detailed within the links above must also be submitted toÌýmedphys.pgr@ucl.ac.uk byÌýFriday 14th January 2022Ìý. Please submit these documents with the subject line: ORS/GRS/CSC Application 2022/23. We will make an offer on Portico to those who are shortlisted.ÌýApplicants should be available on Friday 21st January 2022 in case they are called for interview.
