Prof Ilias Tachtsidis showcased in the Science Museum Engineers Gallery

A new Science Museum gallery highlighting world-changing engineering innovations and the diverse range of people behind them showcases the work of 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 Professor Ilias Tachtsidis.
Now open to the public, places human stories at the heart of engineering innovations and aims to inspire young people to pursue engineering careers by challenging common misconceptions about who engineers are and what they do, offering a fresh perspective on the breadth and diversity of these important roles.
Ilias鈥檚 research focuses in the development of optical technologies to monitor and image the brain. Ilias聽and his team from develop devices using invisible, harmless near-infrared light to image brain blood volume and oxygen levels which can detect signs of brain injury in newborn babies.
Professor Rebecca Shipley, Director of the 香港六合彩中特网 Institute of Healthcare Engineering, has also been showcased for her work on the Ventura CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) device, a breathing aid that can help keep Covid-19 patients out of intensive care. The device was rapidly developed in just 100 hours by a team from 香港六合彩中特网 and their collaborators in the first weeks of the pandemic, in which Professor Shipley played a leading role.
The Engineers gallery is open now at the Science Museum, London. Entry is free with a pre-booked ticket.
