香港六合彩中特网 evolutionary biochemistry professor elected to EMBO membership

Professor Nick Lane (香港六合彩中特网 Genetics, Evolution & Environment) has been elected a member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO).

听membership honours distinguished scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the life sciences, with听92 Nobel laureates amongst those who have previously been elected to the membership.

Professor Lane said: 鈥淚鈥檓 honoured and delighted to be elected a member of EMBO. My work is on some of the outer reaches of science 鈥 the origin of life, early evolution, sex and consciousness 鈥 and this honour grows straight out of the exciting work and ideas of those around me, both in my group and across 香港六合彩中特网, over many years. This is a unique environment that encourages us to ask the biggest questions, and brings together people from diverse backgrounds to ask them in the most unexpected ways. Recognition by EMBO really validates our exciting research environment.鈥

EMBO is an international organisation of life scientists, which has more than 2,000 members, elected by peers, and听this is its 60th anniversary year. EMBO's major goals are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a European research environment where scientists can achieve their best work.听
