Current exhibition at the Student Centre

Our current "Liberating Voices" exhibition comprises two displays, continuing until Summer 2024.

Liberating Voices

'Vote for Philips' leaflet and a suffragette doll on a shelf

Across two discrete but related displays, Liberating Voices uncovers and re-discovers lives and experiences revealed through items held by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Special Collections.

The Road to Gender Equality narrates the history of the women’s suffrage movement and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s ongoing work to disrupt our thinking of the past, with materials drawn from the 2018 Library Services .

Liberating the Collections profiles some of the material identified by Special Collections’ ongoing , working with volunteers to shine a spotlight on marginalized voices in our archives and rare books.

This exhibition was commissioned to tie into the 2022 visit to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø of Hope the Lego Suffragette.
