Merchant in Glasgow, inherited property in St Vincent through his marriage to Jane Adam n茅e Wilson (q.v.).

  1. Jane Wilson of the parish of Ardrossan married John Adam of Hutchestown in the parish of Gorbals on 27/04/1831.

  2. In correspondence with the Compensation Commission, John Adam gave his address as 83 Queens Terrace, Glasgow, and 125 Virginia Street, Glasgow.

  3. Not found in the 1841 census, but deceased by 1851 when his wife Jane Adam was living at Glasgow Street, Ardrossan, age 42, widow, 鈥淧roprietor鈥, born Renfrewshire Paisley.

  4. Daughter Jessie Adam born circa 1848 and living with Jane Adam in the census of 1881 at 16 Princes Street, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire. No other children identified.

  5. Occupation given as 鈥淢erchant鈥 on the death certificate of his wife Jane Adam.
