Partner with John Nesbitt I and Arnold Nesbitt I and then with John Nesbitt I and Jon Nesbitt II; the latter firm failed in 1802. Edward Stewart the bankrupt has not been traced further but was conceivably the Edward Stewart of Pitchcomb [sic] House Stroud whose will made in 1832 and proved 20/07/1833 showed as assets only an insurance policy from Equitable Assurance for 拢5000 placed in trust in 1818, the proceeds of which he left among his seven daughters.
