1. Will of John McCall of Kingston, Jamaica proved 27/10/1808. He left £4000 to his father Gordon McCall the elder of Glasgow; an annuity of £120 p.a. currency to his housekeeper Ann Thomas Gardner; £4000 currency in trust, half of which was to support his reputed daughter Sarah Wynter McCall (he identified her mother as Ann Stephen) and half to support his reputed son William McCall, and [apparently a further] £4000 currency to support his two sons with Ann Thomas Gardner John and James McCall. He left a series of monetary legacies: £700 currency to John Foulerton [sic] of the City of London; two promissory notes for £1500 each he held from his brother Archibald McCall and Robert Ferguson of Kingston to Archibald McCall; £3000 current money to his brother Samuel McCall; £3000 current money to his brother George McCall jun.; £4000 each to his sisters Christina and Catherine; and £3000 to his brother James; £3000 current money to 'my friend' John Tailyour of Kirkton Hill in trust for Tailyour's children. He left his residuary estate to his six siblings in proportion to their legacies.
