Probably the Robert Donaldson who had four children "by Elizabeth Knowles a white woman" baptised in Jamaica in 1794. The children - William, Robert, James and Frances James - had been born between 1784 and 1794. He was probably also the father of Shaw, "son of Elizabeth Knowles a white woman about 5 years old" who was baptised in Hanover in 1802.
Possibly the Robert Donaldson who contributed 拢4 15s to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.
