Fifth son of Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812) and Gutle Schnapper (1753-1849). Paris-based banker and financier. Named as a claimant for Matthew's estate in Antigua on the basis of a mortgage but not listed as an awardee. Part of the compensation was awarded to his brother Nathan Mayer Rothschild, who also put together the 拢20 million government loan which financed the compensation process.
