Biography

Tentatively identified as the natural daughter of Thomas Bagnold I (q.v.) of Kingston.

  1. The will of Elizabeth Bagnold [late of the parish of St Andrew but now] of Great Coram Street Middlesex [made in 1840] was proved 23/12/1848. In the will she left 拢35 to her 'late slave' Maria now the wife of Philip Watt of Red Hill St Andrew, 拢335 to Hannah Moore Smith the wife of Robert Smith of Retreat Pen St Andrew, and 拢70 to Hannah McCorkell of North Street Kingston Jamaica widow. Her residuary heirs were her sons Edward Ford Hamilton of Jersey late a Major in the EIC; James Hamilton Murry of Trinidad; and William Hamilton a purser in the RN.
