Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø CLES holds its first ever South Asian Competition Law Conference

On Tuesday 6th November, the 1st Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø South Asian Competition Law Conference was held at Bentham House, organised by the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Centre for Law, Economics and Society (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø CLES).

The theme of the Conference was ‘Adoption, Implementation and Impact of the Indian and Pakistani Competition Laws’, and explored the progress made by India and Pakistan in the first decade of the enforcement of their respective competition laws.

Attendees heard from a range of speakers including former Competition Commission of India chairperson Dhanendra Kumar and Professor Aditya Bhattacharjea, Professor at Delhi School of Economics. Speakers also included Professor Ioannis Lianos, Director for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø CLES; and Dr Amber Darr, Teaching fellow at .

The Conference was covered in various publications in India, including ; as well as , the largest English language newspaper in Pakistan.
