Sir Robin Jacob appointed judge to first commercial court in Kazakhstan

Sir Robin Jacob, Sir Hugh Laddie Chair of Intellectual Property Law at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Faculty of Laws, has been appointed as one of the UK judges to the new Astana International Financial Centre court in Kazakhstan.
Former Lord Chief justice Lord Woolf, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws alumnus, has been appointed the chief justice of the court.
Sir Robin said:
‘Kazakhstan is setting out to create a major Eurasian commercial centre. Such a centre needs good laws and trusted judges and I am very pleased to join.’
