Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Public International Law Pro Bono Project invited to participate in phase of advisory proceeding

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Public International Law (PIL) Pro Bono Project  amicus brief submission to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights () on 4 May 2017, in the context of advisory proceedings triggered by Ecuador, on a matter related to the institution of asylum in international law. The Project has been extended an invitation to take part in the oral phase of the proceedings during the IACtHR’s 119th Regular Period of Sessions at the Court’s seat in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The Project expects to send a delegation to Costa Rica to further develop the arguments offered in its written brief and to answer the IACtHR’s questions on this important matter.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø PIL Pro Bono Project, which operates under the umbrella of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Centre for Access to Justice brings together LLM and PhD students with a background in Public International Law and provides them with opportunities to gain research experience while contributing to a common good. One of the aims of the Project is for students at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø to engage with international human rights systems through drafting amicus curiae submissions to international courts and undertaking legal research for non-governmental organisations that support and represent victims of human rights abuses.
