What encouraged you to pursue a degree in International Commercial Law?ÌýÌý

I decided to study the International Commercial Law specialism as I wanted to pursue a career as a solicitor within a commercial law firm in London. I felt that this specialism was best suited towards my career ambitions and was broad enough to allow me to explore modules which presented distinct perspectives (such as environmental law) but were nevertheless commercially-oriented.

Why did you choose to study at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws?Ìý

IÌýwanted to study at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws because of its prestigious international reputation and the sheer diversity of its student intake. In particular, the commercial law modules I studied were taught by internationally renowned convenors who provided academic and practical perspectives of the topics. When applying, I also took into consideration the fact that Bentham House had been recently renovated in 2018; and the opening of the new Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Student Centre in 2019.

What is your fondest memory of your time here?

My best memory of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws would have to be my lectures. I cannot fault a single lecture or tutorial for any of the modules I took. The convenors and guest lecturers were always engaging and passionate about the subjects they taught. I was always impressed by the amount of commercial awareness which each convenor infused within their academic teaching, and I found this to be indispensable towards the successful completion of the course and applying for jobs after Ìýgraduating.

During my time as a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws student, I applied for training contracts with commercial law firms in London.
