International Day of Education 2023

Today IOE, 香港六合彩中特网's Faculty of Education and Society, is marking the International Day of Education.

Over the past year, we聽have been delving into our 120-year history in education and social research, exploring how each decade聽has reflected and contributed to transforming individuals鈥 lives and society on a global scale, and thinking forward to how our work will continue to positively influence tomorrow鈥檚 world by championing collaboration, cross-pollination, and progress. Explore the stories and conversations in our IOE120 collection and read our London Review of Education journal special issue.

In the face of the climate crisis,聽this year IOE researchers have been sharing how their work in climate change and sustainability education is enabling new generations to聽respond. Listen to our latest episodes in season 18 of the Research for the Read World podcast series, and read about the official launch of the new 香港六合彩中特网 Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education (CCCSE).

Our academic community has also been engaging with issues surrounding the war in , from emergent humanitarian crises to the reception of those seeking asylum, as well as co-hosting an event 鈥楾aking on Putin: From the Magnitsky Act to Resisting Russia鈥檚 War on Ukraine鈥 as part of 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 Ukraine Response Fund, and which .

The International Day of Education celebrates the role of education for peace and development. Realising the full potential of education in this regard speaks to the heart of IOE鈥檚 mission 鈥 to enhance educational access, experiences and outcomes, to improve the lives of children and families, and to empower citizens to address local and global challenges.聽

In the face of growing inequalities, the climate crisis and the upheavals of war, the challenges are as great as ever.聽The work you do is fundamental to tackling these ills, and we stand alongside you in developing and championing research-informed policy and practice.聽

Together, we are reaching millions of learners; the impetus reflected in the International Day of Education can enable us to reach many more to further human flourishing and societal and economic prosperity.鈥
