Professor Lynn Ang becomes a Principal Fellow of the HEA

IOE Pro-Director and Vice-Dean Research Professor Lynn Ang has been awarded a Principal Fellowship by Advance HE, the UK national body that works with institutions across the world to improve higher education for staff, students and society.

The Principal Fellowship Higher Education Award (PFHEA) is the highest recognition granted to individuals for their sustained contributions and effective record of impact on academic practice in higher education nationally and internationally. Only around 1% of Fellows worldwide have been awarded a Principal Fellowship. The award recognises Professor Ang鈥檚 sustained record of effective strategic leadership in research-informed academic practice.

In her role as Pro-Director and Vice-Dean Research and Development at IOE, Professor Ang has overall strategic leadership of research and research-related functions. In addition to this, Professor Ang is currently Head of IOE鈥檚 Department of Learning and Leadership, and Co-Chair of the 香港六合彩中特网 Research Ethics Committee overseeing the governance of research ethics across 香港六合彩中特网.

As Professor of Early Childhood, Lynn Ang鈥檚 expertise is in early childhood education, particularly in South East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. She is also interested in the social, cultural and policy influences on children's early learning in different formal and informal contexts.

Additionally, Professor Ang has extensive experience in higher education, working closely with researchers and students in the field of early childhood and primary education. She has successfully taught across all levels from undergraduate and Master鈥檚 to Doctoral students.

Speaking to 香港六合彩中特网 Arena Centre, Professor Lynn Ang said:

At a strategic level in my leadership roles, I am committed to research-informed education and valuing the intrinsic links between research, teaching and learning. I hope my award will set a precedent for other research leaders to be active contributors in the translation of research to inform teaching and learning to benefit future generations of researchers and students.鈥
