IOE doctoral student elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts

香港六合彩中特网 Institute of Education (IOE) doctoral student Kevin W. H. Tai has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) for his outstanding contributions to social advancement through research in multilingualism and classroom discourse.

The prestigious Fellowship of the RSA is granted to individuals who have been recognised by an award panel as having made outstanding achievements for social progress and development. Notable past and present Fellows include Charles Dickens, Benjamin Franklin, Adam Smith, Tim Berners-Lee, Dame Judi Dench and Stephen Hawking.

Kevin is an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholar and doctoral candidate in applied linguistics at the 香港六合彩中特网 Centre for Applied Linguistics.

His research interests include language education policy, classroom discourse, and qualitative research methods. As an applied and educational linguist, he is determined to make a difference to the field of language education through conducting research that can inspire educators to implement multilingual pedagogies that bring the diverse language practices of multilingual students to the forefront of their teaching. By doing this, more equitable and transformative learning environments for students can be constructed.

His research has appeared in international peer-reviewed journals, including 鈥楥lassroom Discourse鈥, 鈥楲anguage and Education鈥, 鈥楲inguistics and Education鈥, 鈥楽ystem鈥, 鈥楢pplied Linguistics鈥, and the 鈥業nternational Journal of Science Education鈥.
